Full Moon

The full moon is a time of reflection and recharging as the energy and pull of the moon is at it’s pinnacle. Most witches will take this time to pull power from the moon and the universe to prepare for the weeks to come. The light of the full moon can be used not only to charge crystals and tools but it can also be used to charge your own energy. Here are a couple of things to do under the light of the full moon; this full moon is Friday, January 10th.

  1. Charge your crystals.
    • Crystals are wonderful tools for spell craft and meditation but it is important to remember that like any other tool, they need to be tuned now and then to continue functioning the best they can.
    • To charge your crystals it’s important to determine whether you want to reinforce an intention or start from scratch. If you want to start from scratch, make sure to cleanse your crystals first whether its with running water or leaving the crystal in a bowl of rice the night before to remove any type of existing energy. If you’re looking to reinforce an intention or have already cleansed your crystals all you have to do is leave them out in the moonlight once dusk falls and then up to a couple of nights after if you so choose. Once the crystal is charged, collect them, hold them in your hands, and set whichever intention you choose.
  2. Make Moon Water
    • Moon water can be used for a variety of purposes including; energizing your crystals, watering your plants, placing some on your altar, using it as an aura cleanse, and using it in manifestation rituals. It’s also very easy to make!
    • To make moon water, all you have to do is fill a glass vessel with filtered water on the evening of the full moon, hold it close to your heart and set the intention to collect the energy of the moon, breathing love and light into the water, then leaving it out to collect the energy overnight. In the morning, just gather your vessel and thank the moon for the blessings it has given you.
  3. Meditation
    • Meditation can take many different forms, it doesn’t always look like sitting cross legged on the floor, speaking the mantras over and over again. Sometimes it can look like writing out lists of things you either want to manifest or let go of and put your intention into making is so.
    • During the full moon, a great thought exercise to do is to write a list of elements/situations/people/habits/behaviors that you want to let go of, then burn that list, and drop it into a bowl of water.
  4. Take a Bath
    • The first thing that you need to do when creating your space to take the ritual bath (or shower if you’d like), is to clean out the tub so that you will have a clean space to relax.
    • Next, gather your favorite items; favorite book, favorite candle, favorite crystals, and favorite pj’s to get into afterwards.
    • Once in the bath or shower, visualize the intention of washing away any negative energy and rejuvenating your personal power by relaxing and breathing in the positivity you’ve created in your space. If you can, put on some music, read your book, and spend your time soaking in the energy of the moon.
  5. Read Tarot
    • Take a couple minutes, if you have a deck, create a spread for yourself as a snapshot of where you are in life and where you could go.

The full moon is an important time to remind ourselves how powerful we are and how we can choose what we keep in our lives and manifest. Take advantage of it!
