Ava the E-Girl was brought into being on December 28th, 2019 after I decided that I wanted to try out E-Girl makeup on a whim. As some of you have been following, I created an Instagram account for her and steadily posted some pictures from a photo shoot that we did which can be found below. After having been active for around 2 weeks, Ava the E-Girl’s Instagram account has gained 13 followers, 37 likes, and one sponsorship offer.

A brand called Jintyx reached out to me on Ava’s account on January 3rd to offer a “special influencer” code that would give me 50% off my entire order, which I could then wear in my pictures that they would share on their Instagram. I thought about it, but ultimately decided for another opportunity to come along since Jintyx is a rather expensive brand. They also offered Ava a special code that would give any of my followers 40% off and reserve a 20% commission for me. I may go back and reconsider this offer later, but for right now it was too expensive for the project.
What wasn’t too expensive however, was going to the mall and picking up some “E-Girl Essentials” from Spencers and Hot Topic. I genuinely thought that we were going to have to go to Home Depot to get the chains we were looking for but the second we walked in, I knew it was going to be easier than expected. I was honestly surprised at how easy it was to find E-Girl accessories; though I suppose I shouldn’t have been since it is sort of the new “scene kid” attire. When I was in middle school I absolutely went to Hot Topic for all my accessories and I suppose this isn’t any different.
The primary accessories that we went out looking for were:
- Fake Piercings
- Fake Gauges
- Beanie
- Chains
- Anything with the words “Baby”, “Daddy”, or anything like that.
I was very pleased with our end haul, and at the moment, Ava has probably about 3 or 4 outfits that we can dress her in. I’m not sure if I’ve never really looked for the type of clothing we were seeking out before or if it’s all popped up rather recently, but we found what we were looking for nonetheless and people seemed to know what we were looking for. Our reactions to a lot of the pieces ended up being something along the lines of “I hate it… it’s perfect.”
In the next couple months we hope to have more photoshoots and continue to post to Instagram to see how that pans out. If you would like to follow the account you can click here or look up @ava.the.e.girl. Let me know if you are interested in being a part of the project, we’d love to have more people involved so we can get content out quicker!
